Fiber Sculptures

Throughout my college career, I expanded my fields of interest to include fibers. While working in the fibers department, I became familiar with various techniques including felting, shibori, natural and acid dyeing, and classic sewing and assemblage. To the left is an image of a piece inspired by Claes Oldenburg: The Sixties installation

The images below capture my fiber sculpture: Life in Isolation. This sculpture was inspired by the taxidermy people keep in their homes and was my interpretation of bringing life back into a dead space. At the point of its creation, we had fully transitioned from constant studio access to working from home—blurring the lines that differentiate work from home.
